Now i understand this was gonna happen but im a little dissapointed that they shipped him with an 11-5 record and Vrabel to KC for a SECOND ROUND PICK. i mean Denver was interested in him to why not go for a 1st round pick or something at least. i think they were so intent on picking up that 14 mill and just finding some ok back up for Tommy Touchdowns than making a good deal. ehh

well theres 3 ways to look at this:

1. Belicheck gave his old GM a break and gave away these two players for only a 2nd round pick.

2. He needed to clear the cap space because he was paying a backup QB $14 Million.

3. He is better off with the 2nd round pick that the chiefs offered than the 1st rounder the Broncos offered. I kno it sounds like that dont make sense but its all a science of numbers. 1st round picks always get guaranteed multi-year contracts for alot of money, whereas 2nd rounders dont get as high of contracts and also if you look at the history of the draft, alot of great players have come out of the second round.

does that sound like enough of an explanation???

im leaning towards the too much money for a back up quarterback scenario...I really dont see matt cassell being a really good quarterback on another team...he spent years and years studying a specific type of offense and now hes gonna have to learn a whole new offensive structure....the guys got talent for sure but i just see him struggling this year

The only reason he got all that money was so the Jets would not get him. But this was def. a personal favor for a personal friend.
