The main thing I get disappointed about when I think about how young and fresh to the scene I am is missing parties like this. Yea, I'm sure SF was amazing, and I would've had so much fun and experienced a party like no other there, but I feel like so much of that vibe had to do with drugs that it was somehow less pure. Don't get me wrong, I'm not anti-drug by any means (if you know me you know this lol), I just feel that a scene like that is not as special as one like vinyl/arc. And DT is so amazing; he isn't always playing what I want to hear but I always appreciate his music and his programming for what it is, and as far as I can tell no other DJ gives as much of themselves to their set and the crowd as he does, it's just amazing.

clubs and drugs do and always will go hand in hand .... even if your not the one indulging at least 75 % of the other ppl are which play a huge role in creating the vibe and atmosphere.... The scene being better back then mostly relates to the music and the less mainstream it was....it was like a hidden soceity of people that came out every single week to party together...and if your trying to say that arc wasnt a drug haven you obviously never were there

Obviously I was never there lolol. Just going by what I've heard, stories about vinyl/arc tend to be about Danny and the music, stories about SF tend to be more about the drugs and the party.

I was there at both in the twilight years. Every single club was a haven for drugs users. The reason Danny gets a pass is because he didn't allow lights in the clubs and it was much much much smaller than Exit and SF so u had a better connection. Also Danny spoke on the mic 2-4 times a night, and still to this day plays a sick track, comes down and dances with the people. Where as JP would be way too high to even shake someones hand or acknowledge that u were even near his fortress of crackitude.

With that said, SF def. had the harder drugs and the people willing to take more than normal doses of any drugs. But again, drugs were just the norm everywhere.

yeah i agree with Raul. Arc and Vinyl was loaded with shit but id def say there was a lot less G'ed out monsters and alot more happy lil rollers and shit. i mean if u think about it the festival scene that me and you( delysiduous ) enjoy, is loadedddddddd with drugs. but its not the same u dont have G and not much tweakers its more of alot of people outdoors on some doses or mushies and everyones smoking and being together with the music , it reminds me soooo much of the clubs circa 2001 that i think its why i find good times and vibes there.

Yea I mean I have seen some bad eggs at festivals and shit, but for the most part it's such a happy, communal vibe. And the worst that happens usually is somebody wigging out. I mean, two summers ago I got more than a little bit too spun on some liquid, and I ended up running from non-existent pursuers and then getting lost in the woods for about an hour or so. But no one got hurt, I made it back, and I had something niceeee and warm waiting for me in my tent so it was alllllll good. But yea drugs like tina and G and even K tend to bring out the bad side of any party scene, it's just what happens.

I know a few kids who are big into festivals, and big into k, and nothing bad ever happened as a result. It's also my belief that festivals tend to have people doing more hard shit for longer durations and in larger quantities (except T and G, but add other unusuals such as DMT)...hence, the sometimes negative club scene is more a function of the environment, and the draw of a decent amount of douchebags with bad attitudes, rather than the drugs people are on (although to say that it is MORE a function of this doesn't mean I'm suggesting that G and T never lead to ill results)

This is why all of you need to go:
1. The official first NLV meetup.
2. It's my going away party before I leave the states for awhile.
