At an infamous black door on west 27th Street is where Junior Vasquez began etching his mark in all of our souls. There was not a night at the original Sound Factory that was not full of producers and DJ’s taking notes on what Junior was playing, and for good reason. He was reinventing the sound of house music with every record he played. From his trade mark loops, thunderous bass lines, and ability to play a record backwards he would take his nations of followers on a journey. Anyone who experienced a night at the real Sound Factory, Tunnel, Arena (Palladium), Twilo, or Earth knows what that means. The two things all these venues had in common were Junior and that he played every Saturday night. His reign as king of Saturday nights has never been repeated by any other DJ to this day. His weekly residency ended in 2002 after 14 straight years when he decided to spread his message and traveled the world rocking dance floors like only he can. It brings me great pleasure to announce that Junior has decided to Rock NYC again with his new Saturday night residency “XTATIC” at Club Element on April 3, 2010. So boys and girls get ready to stomp your feet and move to his beat, he’s calling all Diva’s to the dance floor… and HE WILL SEE YOU AT THE FUNCTION!!!
